Janhi and Arhar Dalma ! Easy way recipe !

 Janhi is one of my favorite vegetables because it is so tasty and can make quickly.  It's every recipe is so delicious and tasty like Janhi aloo posto, janhi curry everything. This is often made in my home. Because my father loves Dalma and janhi Dalma is his favorite. I have also made it in a hostel and fed my friends, they liked it too. They liked it so much that they take the recipe for making janhi Dalma from me and makes it themselves. Janhi is not only tasty and easily made but it has also a lot of health benefits. It is rich in essential components like dietary fibers, water content, vitamin A, vitamin C, iron, magnesium, and vitamin B6. It is naturally low in calorie content, unhealthy saturated fats, and cholesterol.



Ingredients

For 2 person

  • 50-gram Arahar dal...
  • 500gram Janhi/Torai/Ridge Gourd
  • 2medium onion
  • jeera and red chilly roasted powder.
  • ghee
  • 1medium tomato
  • 2-3 dry red Mirchi
  • curry leaves(5 to 6)
  • Pancha  phutana - if you don't like panch phutana then you can only jeera instead of this.
  • Haldi
  • salt -according to your taste.
JEERA AND RED CHILY  ROASTED POWDER-MAKING PROCESS.
  You have to take a dry pan on the stove/gas. Let it warm up for a while. Then add cumin and red chilies and fry till it turns light brown. Remember that the amount of jeera will be more than red chilly.
if you use 100-gram jeera, then the red chilly will be used 50grams. After the fry makes it cool for a few minutes and then grind it in a grinder and your jeera and red chilly powder are made.

Method

Cut janhi  into big pieces like round. wash off the dal and take the cooker. Then put the Araha dal and janhi in the cooker along with half a small spoon of Haldi, salt, and tomato. closed the lid of the cooker and put it on the gas. Only 3 or 4 whistles should be given after that turn off the gas. Then take a frying pan and put it on the gas. Once the pan is hot, add 2 tablespoons of ghee. then add pancha phutana, dry chilly, and curry leaves after a few seconds onion will have to be added. After the onion turns brown, put janhi and Arahar dal in the pan. cook it for 5 minutes and add jeera and chilly powder 1 small spoon and last cook it for just 2 minutes. How thick you want to keep the dal, keep it according to you.
serve it with either roti or chawal according to your choice.
